While waiting for his golden egg to hatch his spirit beast, Yusuke meets his spirit investigator Sayaka who comes to oversee his case and his “relationship” with Kayko. While following Kayko around Sayaka learns about the strong feelings Kayko and his family has for Yusuke.

When Yusukes’ house catches on fire Kayko is the only one that can save his body from being burnt. During the rescue Kayko gets trapped in the house with no way out. In order to save Kayko, Yusuke has to make a choice, either give up his chance of living again or let Kayko die.
