Surprised to be dead
Yusuke Urameshi is a 14 year old school boy
with a knack for trouble. He is having a normal day involving
cutting classes, arguing with teachers, and getting into fist-fights
with his rival Kuwabara. While walking down the street he
runs into a kid playing with his ball and when Yusuke jumps
in front of car to save the kid from being hit he is killed
himself.
The ghost
of Yusuke meets the grim reaper (a girl on a flying paddle)
named Boton, who informs Yusuke that if he goes through an
"ordeal" he might have a chance to get his life
back. After visiting his own wake and a little coaxing from
Boton, Yusuke decides to take on the ordeal.
